Bollywood has its share of men in uniform. Here are some who’ve made the khaki a style statement on screen.

Aamir Khan
After playing ACP Rathore in Sarfarosh (1999), Aamir Khan didn’t put on the cop’s uniform for 13 years. But he recently did for Reema Kagti’s upcoming movie, Talaash, which also stars Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji. Soon after the film went on the floors, the actor’s mustachioed look made headlines. Last heard, the team had shot an item song to pep up the thriller.

Salman Khan
After playing the unapologetic, bribe-accepting cop Chulbul ‘Robin Hood’ Pandey in Dabangg in 2010, Salman Khan returns on Christmas as Inspector Pandey in Dabangg 2. This time, the story moves to Mumbai, and hopefully the sexy policewala will be seen playing father to Chulbul Jr. Of course, he will have his wife Rajjo (Sonakshi Sinha) for company.

Ajay Devgn
Ajay Devgn is another star who plays the man in khaki with aplomb. His most recent cop drama was Singham (2011) where he played Inspector Shivajirao Singham. After a series of laugh riots, this action drama proved that Rohit Shetty could deliver hits even without inserting double-meaning jokes in his movies. According to industry insiders, there is a sequel to this south remake, which will flag off next year.

Amitabh Bachchan
After Zanjeer (1973), Amitabh Bachchan was tagged the Angry Young Man. After playing a cop in several masala movies in the 1970s and ’80s, he wore the uniform once again for Bade Miyaan Chote Miyaan (1998) followed by movies like Aks (2001), Dev (2004), Khakee (2004) and Shootout At Lokhandwala (2007). In the last one though, he didn’t wear the uniform but played the role of an investigating officer.
