Was the kissing scene in A Gentleman trimmed? Sidharth Malhotra and directors of the film answer.

There were reports that former CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani had asked the makers of Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez’ upcoming movie A Gentleman to trim a kissing scene. However, Sidharth and the film’s directors Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK have trashed the rumours.

At a film event, Sidharth said, “The kissing scene is there. It has not been cut.” He was answering questions whether CBFC found the kiss too long and asked it to be trimmed like the one between Daniel Craig and Monica Bellucci in james Bond film, Spectre.

“I am surprised how the reports came up and who is telling such stories. I don’t know why there is a big deal about kissing scenes. It is not cut. So the report is not true,” directors of the film, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK also told reporters.

Sidharth, meanwhile, will focus more on the action of the film than the kiss that wasn’t trimmed. In fact, the actor believes the hand-to-hand combat techniques which have been used for the action sequences in his forthcoming film are all doable.

Sidharth, who will be seen as Risky Rishi, uses the hand-to-hand combat technique in the film. The actor was trained for the action sequences by the Hollywood action choreographer Cyril Raffaelli, known for his work in films like Tekken and The Transporter.

Sidharth said in a statement: "It's purely hand-to-hand combat. We had an action choreographer from Paris. Cyril Raffaelli has done loads of Hollywood films and he was training me. So, whatever action you see is all doable, it's all hand-to-hand technique."

Giving more insight into the action choreographer, director Raj Nidhimoru said: "Cyril is one of the first guys who started Parkour, and is very good at hand techniques. Sid trained for quite a few weeks, and he's got some really good moves now. So nobody can mess with him.”

The movie is about Gaurav (Sidharth) who is on a mission to settle down. He is in the process of charming Kavya (Jacqueline) into marrying him; except that Kavya is dreading the thought that he is going to pop the question because she is in no hurry at all and wants more excitement in life.

She so wishes that this sundar susheel gentleman gets a bit riskier. When an assignment takes Gaurav to Mumbai, shit hits the fan. A case of mistaken identity brings a bunch of dangerous operatives into his life.

Soon, trouble follows him to Miami and literally threatens to blow up his dream life. This is the second time we will see Sidharth and Jacqueline together after Brothers. The film is all set to release on August 25.
