Last time, we took a sneak peek at the plush vanity vans of Bollywood stars. Now, as part of our on-going Celebrity Lifestyle Series, here’s a tour inside their luxurious homes.
Bollywood and TV stars definitely know how to make the most of their moolah. And real estate seems to catch their fancy. Plush bungalows, sea-facing flats, bachelor pads and studio apartments — our tinsel town celebs own properties that exude luxury for their tastefully done interiors and classy decor. Located in some of the most posh locations in Mumbai (India’s film city) and overseas, these celebrity homes will instantly make you fall in love with them. While some stars hired professionals to do up their homes, others took it in their own hands, quite literally, to lend a personal touch.
In the fourth segment of our Celebrity Lifestyle Series, here’s a glimpse at some of the most luxurious homes that our stars live in, and other properties they own in India and abroad.
Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan aka King Khan lives life king-size! Mannat, located at Bandstand, Bandra in Mumbai, is the actor’s official residence, where he lives with wife Gauri, kids Aryan, Suhana and AbRam, and elder sister Shehnaz Lala Rukh Khan. Shah Rukh has apparently invested more than Rs 100 core for two floors in a 64-storey tower in Lalbaug. Besides this, SRK owns several properties in India and abroad, including a house in New Delhi, a GB £20 million apartment in London, and a villa on the Palm Jumeirah in Dubai.
Salman Khan
Actor Salman Khan lives in Galaxy apartment, Bandra (Mumbai) with his joint family, including brothers Sohail and Arbaaz and their families. He reportedly owns a property worth Rs 110 crore in Mumbai, including a triplex apartment in Address building located in the Bandra neighbourhood. He also owns a 150-acre farmhouse in Panvel on the outskirts of Mumbai. The farmhouse has three dedicated state-of-the-art bungalows, gymnasiums, a swimming pool and a farm area. Salman often enjoys a weekend getaway at his farmhouse. For his 51st birthday in December 2016, Salman gifted himself a sprawling bungalow on the Gorai beach in Maharashtra.

Actor Akshay Kumar is currently staying at a posh house at Prime Beach in Andheri, Mumbai. The lavish property has a swimming pool and a well-equipped gym. The interiors have been done under the guidance of his wife Twinkle Khanna, who herself is an interior designer. The house has a stunning view of the beach and is surrounded by lush gardens, which serve as the perfect set-up for Akshay’s house parties. The actor reportedly owns multiple properties in Canada, including a hill in Toronto. He also has a beachside bungalow in Mauritius.
Aamir Khan
Actor Aamir Khan owns a two-storey apartment in Mumbai, which is reportedly worth Rs 2 crore. Interestingly, this apartment is two storeys below the flat he grew up in. According to reports, the actor plans to renovate the 5000 Sq. ft. apartment and make it into a 20,000 sq. ft. mansion. Aamir also owns a 100-year old farmhouse in Panchgani, which is quite a lavish property with a huge landscaped garden. The actor keeps visiting this 2-acre house that he bought on his 11th wedding anniversary with wife Kiran Rao, in 2016. The actor is said to host many parties at his Panchgani holiday home. Apart from this, Aamir has also bought about 20 houses in his native village in Uttar Pradesh.
Ajay Devgn
Ajay Devgn is currently living in Juhu (Mumbai) and his bungalow is called Shiv Shakti. Apart from that, Devgn also owns another bungalow in Malgari Road in the city, which the actor often visits when he wishes to spend some alone time. Besides another apartment in Mumbai’s Andheri West, Ajay, who is very fond of gardening, also owns a 28-acre farm house in Karjat.

Actor Amitabh Bachchan’s Juhu bungalow — Jalsa — a 10,125 Sq. ft. double-storied house, is nothing short of a pilgrimage for his fans, who gather around the house every Sunday. And the actor obliges, and waves at them. The actor also bought a piece of land behind Jalsa, and the common wall between the two bungalows has been demolished. While Amitabh has been living in Jalsa for many years now, it was Prateeksha, which he calls a tribute to his parents, where the actor lived for 40 years along with parents Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan, and his own family including wife Jaya, son Abhishek and daughter Shweta. Apart from these two bungalows, the 74-year-old also owns an apartment worth Rs 1.75 crore and a house in Bhopal, which he bought while he was shooting for Satyagraha. Not many would know that Big B also owns a property in Gurgaon [now Gurugram], which is reportedly worth Rs 1.2 crore and another holiday home in Paris, France, worth Rs 3 crore.

Actor Ranbir Kapoor earlier shared an apartment in Mumbai’s Bandra area with ex-girlfriend, actor Katrina Kaif, but shifted out of the rented property in January 2016, after their break-up. He has bought a plush apartment in Pali Hills, Mumbai. The 2,460 Sq. ft. flat is on the seventh floor of the building named Vastu. The actor reportedly spent Rs 35 crore for his bachelor pad, interiors for which have been done by Shah Rukh Khan’s wife Gauri Khan.
Sonam Kapoor
Although actor Sonam Kapoor stays with her family in Juhu, she bought a swanky pad in Signature Island Property in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in 2015. According to reports, Sonam splurged Rs 30 crore for the duplex flat that spreads across 7000 Sq. ft.and runs across third and fourth floor of the building. The bathroom has a jacuzzi and in tune with Sonam’s fashion icon image, there’s a special walk-in closet, too.
Hrithik Roshan
Hrithik Roshan recently moved into a plush, 3,600 Sq. ft, sea-facing apartment in (Mumbai) Juhu’s Prime Beach building that has an open garden. While the interiors of the house are spacious, the most attractive part of the house remains the wall that is covered with pictures of Hrithik with his sons, Hrehaan (11) and Hredhaan (9). According to reports, out of the four bedrooms, Hrithik has converted two of them into a gym equipped with all modern workout machines. Of the remaining two rooms, while one continues to be his bachelor zone, the other room has been nicely done up for his sons with one wall completely covered with the world map. Hrithik is reportedly paying a rent of Rs 6.5 lakh for this flat.
Alia Bhatt
Actor Alia Bhatt’s new pad, which she shares with sister Shaheen, is nothing short of a dream home. With subtle yet elegant interiors and a colour theme to soothe your senses, Alia shifted to this new house in Mumbai’s Juhu suburb, in October 2016. Located near her parents’ residence, the house has been designed by filmmaker Vikas Bahl’s wife, Richa Bahl, and is away from the Bollywood glitz and glamour. Rather, Alia didn’t want the interiors to be modern at all and opted for old New York-ish decor with white walls, comfortable sofas, concrete-tiled floors and expansive windows with a view of Mumbai’s tropical trees. While the four bedrooms were reconfigured to three, it’s interesting that Alia has kept her dressing room as a separate space from the house to ensure it remains private. The pad has a special tea bar that was made for the Bhatt sisters, who are known to be obsessed with tea.
John Abraham
Actor John Abraham surely knows how to live in style. He owns a sea-facing duplex, which he has named Villa In The Sky. Stretched over 5000 Sq. ft., it is located in Bandra’s Bandstand in Mumbai. The opulent property has been planned and designed by none other than John’s father, Abraham John, and his brother Alan. As per reports, it took about 14 months to design this gorgeous property.

Actor Anushka Sharma bought three flats on the 20th floor of the posh Badrinath Towers, a high end building in Versova, Mumbai. The actor combined and converted these flats into a spacious sea-facing apartment, sprawling over a 6,000 Sq. ft. area. Anushka is said to be living with her family in the property worth Rs 10 crore. Earlier, the actor was staying in a three-bedroom flat at Panchavatika Apartments off Yari Road.
Deepika Padukone
Actor Deepika Padukone, who has been flying high with a string of superhit films in her kitty, owns a plush four-bedroom apartment and office on the 26th floor of the Beaumonde Towers in Prabhadevi, Mumbai. Unlike other Bollywood stars, who prefer to stay in the posh suburbs between Bandra and Andheri, where most of the studios and production houses are located, Deepika has chosen to stay in central Mumbai.In 2016, she purchased another flat, worth Rs 40 crore, in the same building for her parents.

Actor Abhishek Bachchan stays in his family home Jalsa located at Juhu, Mumbai. However, the actor also bought an apartment on the 37th floor of Skylark Towers located at the Annie Besant Road area of Worli, Mumbai. Worth Rs 41.14 crore, the five-bedroom house, includes a family room, dining and living room and also has a 20 feet terrace on all sides. Abhishek, along with wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, also own a palatial villa property in Dubai’s Sanctuary Falls in Jumeirah Golf Estates. The fully furnished villa has a Scavolini-designer kitchen and Nolte wardrobes, along with cutting-edge home automation system and concierge service. The villa sprawls across 5600 Sq. ft. and the price range varies between 15 to 35 million in UAE Dirhams.
Saif Ali Khan
Besides his house in Mumbai, actor Saif Ali Khan also co-owns his ancestral house in Pataudi, known as the Pataudi Palace, which he inherited from his father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. The net worth of the palace is said to be approx Rs 750 crore. Besides this, Saif has also gifted wife Kareena Kapoor Khan a chalet in Gstaad, Switzerland. It is a wooden house with hanging leaves. He also owns a property in Bhopal, which is reportedly under a legal dispute. Saif has bought four floors of a building opposite his present residence, Fortune Heights, in Bandra, Mumbai. Each floor has a 3 BHK apartment that measures 3,000 Sq. ft and is worth Rs 12 crore, which sums up to 48 crore.
Farhan Akhtar
Actor-director Farhan Akhtar is currently staying in his bungalow, Vipassana, which he bought in 2009. The house spreads across 10,000 Sq. ft. and is very close to Salman Khan’s residence, Galaxy apartments, and Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat in Bandstand, Bandra in Mumbai.
Sanjay Dutt

Actor Sanjay Dutt has always lived in Bandra, though in different buildings. Until recently, Sanjay had been living with his parents in their bungalow, Ajanta, before it was broken down and rebuilt as a high-rise — named Imperial Heights — a few years ago. Later, he moved to a bigger space, as his family expanded. Currently, the actor owns a three-floor apartment in Bandra, where he lives with wife Maanayata Dutt, and twins, Shahraan (son) and Iqra (daughter). Of the three, one entire floor is dedicated to a swimming pool and a gym, since Sanjay is a fitness freak and can’t miss his workout routine. Another floor boasts of a 20-seater theatre, while the last floor houses living and dining rooms with guest rooms.
Varun Dhawan
Actor Varun Dhawan has bought a plush four BHK apartment in Bandra in Mumbai. The lavish pad is located on Carter Road and the interiors have been done by Varun’s mother, Karuna Dhawan. The actor is also said to have a house in a posh Juhu locality, which he shares with his parents.

Actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra and her husband, businessman Raj Kundra, live in a luxurious sea-facing house called Kinara, located in Juhu, Mumbai. From carpets to paintings, Shilpa’s love for animal prints can be seen everywhere in her abode, the interiors of which have been done up by the actor herself. Besides this Mumbai house, Raj had gifted Shilpa a flat in Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. The couple also owns a seven-bedroom property in Weybridge, Surrey, besides owing multiple properties in Mayfair and Oxford Street, London.

Actor Katrina Kaif recently shifted to her new house located at Mount Mary Church Road in Bandra, Mumbai. The house is spacious. Reportedly, it took her long to find herself a perfect abode, as she wanted a big house, so that her family can stay with her whenever they visit Mumbai. There is a beautiful terrace garden facing the sea, which apparently is Katrina’s favourite spot where she spends time when she wants to unwind. Also, the actor wasn’t too happy with the constant media glare in her last house at Gurudev Sagar, so this time, she wanted a place with more privacy.
Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka Chopra is clearly among those enterprising actors, who believe in investing in real estate and buy multiple properties. In Mumbai, she owns houses in Lokhandwala and Juhu. She bought a bungalow in Versova for a whopping Rs 100 crore last year and it’s called Dariya Mahal. Given her Hollywood stint, Priyanka got herself a palatial new property in Los Angeles, USA. The actor had personally looked into the interior designing for this new bungalow, as she wanted a space that would reflect her personality.
Sidharth Malhotra
Hailing from Delhi, when actor Sidharth Malhotra shifted to Mumbai to pursue a career in films, he mostly stayed in a rented accommodation during his initial days. It was only in 2013 when the actor bought his first home, a sea-facing apartment in Bandra. However, last year, he moved to a semi furnished property in Juhu, which he renovated from scratch. Reportedly, Sidharth was looking for a bigger place, where his family could come and stay over.
Parineeti Chopra
Actor Parineeti Chopra bought a plush property in Khar, Mumbai in 2015. Located in a residential tower named Quantum Park, it’s a 4 BHK apartment sprawling across 4,000 Sq. ft. According to reports, Parineeti bought the apartment for Rs 22 crore and was personally involved in deciding the interiors of the house. Believe it or not, but the actor was on a massive house hunt and looked at 30 other houses before she finalised this one.

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput moved into a new home with actor Ankita Lokhande in 2013, whom he was dating at the time. He reportedly spent Rs 20 crore on the Malad property in Mumbai. After his break up with Ankita last year, Sushant moved into a new house in Bandra in Little Heights Building, which again cost him Rs 20 crore. Suiting the needs of the actor, his new abode has a home theatre as well as a library.

Actor Shraddha Kapoor gifted herself a new house in January this year, which is located in the same society as her parents. However, the actor continues to stay with her parents and uses this house for her meetings. Though the wooden interiors give her house a rustic touch, Shraddha didn’t want it look like an office space and hence, the open doors of the bedroom make the entire apartment look beautiful and airy. Besides, her father, actor Shakti Kapoor has also gifted her three properties — a bungalow on Madh Island, a sea-facing flat in Juhu and a shop, which has been rented out.

Actor Anil Kapoor owns a house in Juhu’s Ville Parle Development (JVPD) scheme, for which the interiors have been done by his wife Sunita [Kapoor], who is an interior designer by profession. Besides the walls adorned with rare paintings and artefacts, the house has a gym as well as a small garden, where the actor often spends family time. Anil also owns an apartment in Bandra, which is worth Rs 30 crore, a property in Central London and one in California, where his son actor Harshvardhan stayed for a while.
Rani Mukerji
After the birth of her daughter Adira in 2015, actor Rani Mukerji and husband, filmmaker Aditya Chopra, moved into their new house in Mumbai’s Juhu area. The couple bought two plots, which they combined into a lavish property. Aditya’s old house, close to his production house [Yash Raj Films], was reconstructed as their second bungalow.
Sonakshi Sinha
Actor Sonakshi Sinha lives with her parents, veteran actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha, in a six-storey house located in Juhu. Originally a bungalow, it was broken down to construct a six-floor building that took four years to complete. The three siblings — Sonakshi, Luv and Kush — have a floor each. Sonakshi also has an office space for herself in the same building and an entire floor has been made into a gym.
Jay Bhanushali
TV couple Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhanushali’s sprawling apartment, located in a skyscraper in Mumbai’s Goregaon speaks volumes about their taste. The flat has an L-shaped spacious living room, two bedrooms, a dining area, a study, which gets converted into Mahhi’s walk-in closet too, when Jay is not around. Of the two balconies, one overlooks Aarey colony while the other has the view of Mumbai’s concrete jungle. The couple bought the house in 2011 and the beautiful interiors have been done by a few of Mahhi’s friends.
Ssharad Malhotraa
Actor Ssharad Malhotraa owns a one-BHK apartment in Versova (Mumbai) that has been beautifully done up with colourful posters and multiple shelves where his television awards are placed. He has a Buddha statue in the living room, which is also his favourite spot in the house.
Shashank Vyas
Actor Shashank Vyas’s 1200 Sq. ft. three-BHK abode in Borivali, where he stays with a father, is a cosy apartment. The actor has personally looked into the decor of his house, which is simple yet elegant. While the spacious hall has an attached kitchen, one of the walls in the drawing room is decorated with Bollywood film posters, which remains his favourite space in the house.
Rajeev Khandelwal
Actor Rajeev Khandelwal owns a three-storey villa located in Goregaon East, Mumbai. While one floor is above the ground, the other two are in the basement, separated by two running staircases. Done up by interior designer Richa Bahl, the decor of the house is minimalist yet in tune with Rajeev and his wife’s taste and requirements. The first floor has an open kitchen and a dining area, while the highlight of the second floor is the study-cum-meeting space. While the house is beautifully decorated with artifacts, other highlights include a bar set-up with dim lighting and an open terrace garden.
