The song, composed by Pritam and sung by Mohan Kanan is a sad and wishful song, with feelings of desire and giving up portrayed beautifully. There is a hint of melancholy and will remind you of someone you let go in your life. It pictures Saif Ali Khan in an all-black attire, playing a black guitar, thinking about the times with Deepika and the newcomer, Diana. The song is shot in a dark tone, and is refreshing with its new concept.

There are a lot of things that work for the song. For one, Saif's guitar-playing lends a very trendy and youthful touch to the song. The fact that Saif himself plays the guitar in his personal life has added to the song, with his fingers moving effortlessly on the guitar making it look authentic. There is a touch of Punjabi lyrics in the song and there is a nice rhyme to the lyrics. There is a striking similarity between Yaariyaan and the hit song, In My Place by Coldplay. With guitar and drums being the primary instruments, the song has a very alternative rock sound to it.

In all, the song has all the elements to become a hit and spread its charm across all age groups. Let us see what our readers have to say!
