De De Pyaar De box office day 2: The film starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh collected Rs 13 crore on its second day.
De De Pyaar De, starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh, showed a slight growth on its first Saturday. The film collected Rs 13.39 crore on its second day of release, taking its total collections to Rs 23.80 crore at the domestic box office. The actor’s last film, Total Dhamaal, had collected Rs 36 crore in two days.

De De Pyaar De opened at Rs 10.41 crore. Taran had earlier reported that the film released in around 3100 theatres in India and around 650 theatres overseas. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh updated the second day collections of the film on Twitter, “#DeDePyaarDe jumps on Day 2... Strong word of mouth has come into play... Metros rocking... Tier-2 cities and mass circuits show upward trend... Should score big on Day 3... Fri 10.41 cr [incl Thu previews], Sat 13.39 cr. Total: ₹ 23.80 cr. India biz. #DDPD,” he tweeted.
Raja Sen in the Hindustan Times review of the film said, “There is genuine fodder for situational comedy, but debutant director Akiv Ali can’t strike the balance between clever humour and broad farce, making something that wants to be intelligent but looks (and sounds) like a Priyadarshan slapstick climax.”
Directed by Akiv Ali, the film also stars Alok Nath, Javed Jaaferi and Jimmy Shergill in key roles. The movie follows the story of 50-year-old Ashish (played by Ajay), a divorcee who falls for 26-year-old Ayesha (played by Rakul). In the film, Tabu plays Ajay’s ex-wife. The story sheds light on the backlash Ajay faces for falling in love with a girl the age of his kids, and the complexities that come with it.”
