Deepika Padukone at Cannes and the curious case of missing RK tattoo

Deepika Padukone’s RK tattoo was not visible as she walked the red carpet at Cannes and her fans are wondering what happened.

Deepika Padukone has been serving one winning look after another in the last few days. Beginning with Met Gala in the US to her two appearances at the Cannes Red Carpet on Thursday and Friday, Deepika is making sure that the world talks about her. However, knowing how obsessive fans can be, what they are discussing currently is what happened to the actor’s RK tattoo when she posed at the film festival in a pink high low hem gown, accentuated by dramatic ruffles.

Deepika had got inked when she was dating Ranbir Kapoor. Later when their relationship ended, Deepika kept the R but modified the K to look like a flower. This is not the first time that the actor has appeared without the tattoo so we can answer this one for Deepika – she hid the tattoo with makeup. She has done it in the past as well while working and during appearances. She had sported it last time she walked the red carpet at Cannes in 2017.

But does she plan to permanently have the tattoo erased now that she has moved on? The actor answered the question in an episode of Koffee with Karan, “It’s something that I felt was correct, and even today, I don’t regret it. I have never thought about taking it off. I know the media is constantly saying ‘she has taken it off’, ‘she has lasered it’, ‘she has changed it’ and all kinds of things. It’s very much there and I have no plans of taking it off.”

Deepika is in a relationship with actor Ranveer Singh. While the duo is yet to accept it publically, their public display of affection is proof enough.
