Don’t have the discipline to write: Vidya Balan
Bollywood actor Vidya Balan says she has a story idea; plans to collaborate with someone to convert it into a film script.
Many Bollywood actors expand their repertoire by venturing into different spheres of film-making — from producing movies to turning playback singers. Vidya Balan, who is currently shooting for director Sujoy Ghosh’s next, also wants to do something similar. She wants to write a script for a film. “I have a story idea that I have been developing for a couple of years now. I have shared it with a few friends as well. They keep asking me why I don’t get it written or write it myself. But honestly, I don’t have the discipline to write,” says Vidya.

The actor reveals that she did attempt to write the script once. “...but I didn’t manage to write even one page,” she says, adding, “Maybe I will collaborate with a writer, or rather get someone like-minded on board, and see if that works.” Ask her if she has a deadline in mind to get the process started, and the actor says, “Maybe this year I will try to do that. Let’s see how it goes.”

Vidya, who is known for her unconventional choices, has been taking it easy on the acting front of late. Last year, she did just one film, Hamari Adhuri Kahani. Even in 2014, she was seen only in a couple of movies. Vidya, however, expects this year to be a busier one. Glad that she’s back to doing what she loves the most, she adds, “I have enjoyed getting back on the sets. But I will certainly space out my work, since I cannot jump from one film to another,” she says.
