For a while now, there have been talks about the sequel to the 2008 hit, Dostana. Some reports have claimed that Arjun Rampal will be an addition to the cast, while either Deepika Padukone or Katrina Kaif will replace Priyanka Chopra.

The original film starred Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka in lead roles.

However, till date, there’s been no official announcement about it. Finally, Karan Johar — who produced the original — reveals that he wants to absolutely sure about the storyline and the script before giving a go-ahead, since it deals with a "sensitive subject" (rumoured to touch upon gay relationships again).

"Blending a sensitive subject with entertainment is always difficult. Also, I have always believed that a sequel should better the first part. So, Tarun Mansukhani; (director) and I have decided to keep the film aside. When we find the right plot line, we will definitely make it," says Karan.

Tarun, meanwhile, is devoting his time to work on the adaptation of a French hit, Priceless (2006), that will reportedly star Sidharth Malhotra. "He is currently developing it. It’s a very exciting French film, and he is completely into remaking it," says Karan, who also reveals that his own directorial venture is also on track:

"I’m writing (the script) as we speak.I will start filming next year. The cast, and other details, will all be finalised when I have the screenplay ready," he says.
