Even after two sex comedies, Tusshar says he has nothing to regret
Actor Tusshar Kapoor says he won’t change anything about the choices he has made in his career. He shares why being a star kid didn’t make his journey any easier.
Tusshar Kapoor’s latest film Kya Kool Hai Hum 3 has become the second highest opener of 2016. The actor visited HT City along with his co-star Aftab Shivadasani recently, and said that he has survived in the industry only because of his fans.
“I see my journey as one that I couldn’t change ... and I wouldn’t want to change it either. I have no regrets. I have done everything with full sincerity. Sometimes people liked my films and sometimes they didn’t. I believe that if I am still working in the industry, it is because of my fans. If you have to survive in the film business, it is necessary to go through harsh times.”

Tusshar, who is veteran actor Jeetendra’s son, says that despite being a star kid, he has had his own share of struggle.
“I am a true example of how even if you are superstar’s son, you will have to go through the thick and thin of life and face challenges. But at the end of the day, talent can never be curbed. It is the audience that decides who will stay and who will go,” he says.
The story of Kya Kool Hai Hum 3 makes fun of many Bollywood films and its characters have also mimicked some actors. Mention this to Tusshar and he says everything has been done in good humour, and that people shouldn’t get upset because they have not been hit below the belt. “Imitation is the best form of flattery. My dad takes all these things very sportingly. I don’t think mimicking anyone can ever be a problem if you are not hitting below the belt.”
The movie had to go through many edits when it was shown to the censor board, but Tusshar says its element of humour remains intact. “Our movie’s humour element hasn’t lessened because of the edits done by the censor board,” he says.
The 39-year-old, who worked with real-life porn stars in the film, calls it an interesting experience. “My introductory scene in the movie was shot with real-life porn stars — a fact that I got to know about later — and it was quite interesting to shoot with them,” he said.
