Fans can take out Shahid-Sonam for a date

After Bodyguard, Mausam producers announce dating contest for fans. Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor can be taken out for a date by a fan as part of Mausam’s promotions.

Salman Khan’s nerve surgery in the US disrupted plans. Otherwise, a fan in each city short-listed for Bodyguard’s promotions would have guarded Salman and Kareena Kapoor. Bebo’s former beau Shahid Kapoor has taken cue from his ex. He and co-star Sonam Kapoor can be taken out for a date by a fan as part of Mausam’s promotions.

Fans from different cities can send their entries to the producers and Mausam’s core team on the film’s official web pages on different social networking sites, expressing their desire to spend a day with Sonam or Shahid. Over the last two days, the team has received 42,000 entries from cities where Shahid and Sonam will travel from today to promote the movie.

The producers, debutant director Pankaj Kapoor and the actors are all confident that there will be enough youngsters who’d want to take Sonam and Shahid out. “My team is innovatively promoting the film because fun ideas establish a connect with the target audience and eventually help the film’s business,” Pankaj says, adding, “We’re sifting through entries at the moment. The winners will be informed soon.”

Incidentally, the Bodyguard contest was advertised in over 25 cities. The newspaper that ran the call for entries in Kanpur received 2.5 lakh requests to guard Salman for a day.
