Actors Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s blue eyed son Taimur Ali Khan turns one today and he has been making headlines for his adorable looks right from day one. From being snapped during his vacations or at the airport to being clicked enjoying ‘me’ time in his balcony swings, Taimur has undoubtedly become the most favourite kid for paparazzi.
While the Pataudi and Kapoor families are celebrating the little munchkin’s first birthday at Pataudi Palace, and not many people are invited for the “private affair”, social media is going abuzz with new pictures of Taimur being shared by fan clubs.
In addition to these pictures that continue to break the internet, we check out 10 things that Saif and Kareena have said about Taimur — his upbringing and the frenzy that surrounds him. Here’s wishing Taimur a very happy birthday!
Saif Ali Khan: Taimur will have to be aware that he is being watched all the time. There will be certain expectations out of him. Maybe all that will force him to become an actor. I hope that with the right guidance, maybe he will find his calling in another field.
Kareena Kapoor Khan: Saif and I keep arguing that he is more like a Pataudi and I am like no, he is like a Kapoor. But of course, his gorgeous sea blue eyes, which he has taken from my grandfather [Raj Kapoor] and Lolo [Karisma Kapoor] and that is amazing.
Saif Ali Khan: “She [Kareena] says he looks like me but I am pretty sure he looks a lot like her. I cannot tell. Some days he looks like me and some days he looks like her. He looks like a Chinese. Not Chinese, let’s say Mongol. (Laughs) But Mongol sounds like he is missing a chromosome. Let’s say Timurid.”
Kareena Kapoor Khan: Just because I’m elusive and my husband and I are not on social media talking about our emotions on an hourly basis, people take the liberty to put out stories about my child and me.
Saif Ali Khan: I think he will soon get used to being clicked and hopefully, he should get comfortable with it, too. If he grows up to be like me, I think at some point the poor chap will wish no one was watching him. I am afraid; all this just goes with the territory. Taimur is rather delectable, so I don’t blame anyone. It’s a price he has to pay for it.
Kareena Kapoor Khan: My whole heart and mind is full of my son, and just pure love for my child. I never thought that I could have loved anyone more than my sister, my dad and my mom. But when I held Taimur in my arms for the first time, I don’t think I loved before that.
Saif Ali Khan: I miss Taimur when I’m away. In our [I and Kareena] relationship, we feel good that we have brought someone into the world together, someone who is half hers and half mine. I think we were ready for that. We have had lots of fun by ourselves. Now, it’s time to share a little responsibility and take things to another level.
Kareena Kapoor Khan: I say it with a lot of pride that he [Taimur] is the most gorgeous child, not because he is mine, but because he is very good looking. Yes, he has the Pathan genes, but it’s also because I ate a lot of ghee.
Saif Ali Khan: I don’t plan to hide him. We will have a tough time figuring out how to bring him up. I think Taimur is already a bit of a popular chap. So, I think we will have to teach him to be grounded, as people will watch whatever he does.
Kareena Kapoor Khan: Like Taimur and AbRam... As you [Shah Rukh Khan] said, I have not worked a lot with a lot with the Kapoor men, we will see to it that this Kapoor and Khan work together.
