Hard Kaur actor Chaitannya Kanhai: Since childhood, I was inclined towards entertaining people around me
Actor Chaitannya Kanhai says that staying on the sets give him a lot of energy, and he feels entertaining people is “his thing.”Updated: Dec 22, 2017 21:22 IST
Actor Chaitannya Kanhai’s recent film highlighted the subject of women’s empowerment. The film, which had the actor play an antagonist, has left him creatively satisfied. “I couldn’t have asked for a better platform. It had a strong story and good actors. I was always intrigued about playing a negative role and this film gave me the opportunity,” says Chaitannya.
The actor, who was recently seen in the film titled, Hard Kaur, has also worked as an assistant director in the film Tell Me O Kkhuda (2011), and is willing to experiment with different aspects of filmmaking.
“I want to get into filmmaking in future and produce [films] as well. I love the world of cinema and want to explore different aspects of it soon,” he says.
Chaitannya, who has been trained under artists such as Makrand Deshpande and others, also shares that he always wanted to be a good entertainer. “I think, it happened during my childhood because I was always inclined towards entertaining people around me. I always wanted to make them visualise things and take them to my dreamland,” he quips.
Born in Vrindavan, the actor did his post graduation from Noida and has been living in Mumbai since the past eight years. While most actors go through their share of struggle, Chaitannya says that if there is anything that kept him going, it has to self motivation.
“You have to motivate yourself to never give up, and I am very passionate about things that I want to do. I do not feel drained or tired when I am on the sets. I am enthusiastic about everything when I am working because I am doing what I always wanted to do,” he signs off.
