I fight with everyone but I have no enemies: Nana Patekar

With his Welcome back ready to release, actor Nana Patekar opens up about his equation with the film industry. He says despite his temper, there is no bad blood with anyone.

Actor Nana Patekar agrees that he fights with everyone, but maintains that he has no enemies. Patekar, 64, who will be seen next in Anees Bazmee’s directorial, said that he even fought with the director but their ­arguments did not last for long.

“I had fights and ­arguments with Anees Bazmee but it doesn’t last for ­long. Anees is a good ­director. It was nice, amazing experience working with him,” he said.

“I fight with everyone but I don’t have any enemies. There is no enmity with ­anyone,” Patekar said at the trailer launch of the film recently.

The Ab Tak Chhappan actor added that Bazmee ­provides script to his actors at the very last moment. “I have only one problem (with Anees). He always gives the script at the last (moment). He gives it late in the night ... He wants us to do the scene next day,” he said.

The comedy drama, a sequel to the 2007 hit Welcome, also stars Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Shruti Haasan, Naseeruddin Shah and Dimple Kapadia.

When Anil was asked at the launch if it is true that Patekar is ­short-tempered, the Marathi star interrupted and joked, “We just had a fight 10 ­minutes back on how to ­present this event.”

Anil was all praise for Patekar. “I have worked with a lot of big actors. I feel that both, nationally and ­internationally, Nana is the best co-star.”

The sequel is scheduled for a worldwide release on September 4.
