I have never had a wishlist: Radhika Apte

Actor Radhika Apte doesn’t like to mix her personal life with professional life. In fact, she doesn’t feel ­comfortable talking about her personal life publicly. So, when you ask her about her husband, British ­musician Benedict Taylor, who she married in 2012, she doesn’t say much.

So, when you ask her about her husband, British ­musician Benedict Taylor, who she married in 2012, she doesn’t say much. “I don’t like ­talking about it publicly. But if you want to know, then, we met when I was in London pursuing a course in contemporary dance,” she says.

“He is in London, I am in India, but we are managing. We meet now and then, either he comes here or I visit him,” she adds. But Radhika doesn’t mind talking about her work. And right now, she is “super-excited” to have bagged a film with Southern star Rajinikanth. “It is a rare opportunity to be working with him, as only three actresses from Bollywood have had a chance to work with him,” says the Badlapur actor.

Ask her if there is anyone else on her ­work wishlist, and she says, “I have never had a wishlist. I don’t think about who is with me in the film. I like to focus on what my role is, and the scope of ­performance that my role will allow. I like to add ­variety to my repertoire and that’s one of the things I keep in mind while ­choosing a role,” says the actor who’ll soon be seen in a Ketan Mehta directed movie.
