I haven’t signed Milan Talkies yet: Shahid Kapoor

The Ekta Kapoor-produced film, Milan Talkies, has been in the news for a while now, mainly because of speculation regarding its lead actor. Earlier, the film was supposed to have Imran Khan in the lead, but a few days back, Shahid Kapoor’s name was thrown into the fray.

It was also reported that Priyanka Chopra opted out of the Tigmanshu Dhulia directorial due to differences with Shahid, who is her alleged ex-boyfriend. However, Shahid sets the record straight saying he hasn’t signed the film yet. “It (Milan Talkies) has been offered to me, but I haven’t signed it yet. I am yet to hear the script. I need to hear it first and only then will I decide,” says Shahid.

Post Bullett Raja, this will be Tigmanshu’s next. It is a rom-com set in a small town and will be shot in Lucknow and Mumbai. It is expected to go on the floors by October. “I like Tigmanshu a lot as a director. I think he’s superb. I saw Paan Singh Tomar (2010) last year and it is one of my favourite films,” says the actor.

So, is Priyanka in the film as well? “I don’t know. As far as I’ve been told, nobody has been cast right now. I have no idea about what the earlier status on the film was,” says Shahid.
