“I think my journey has been quite hard-hitting and real. I haven’t left any ‘real’ topic, from the traffic signal to the film industry. I am very happy with the kind of cinema I have made, the kind of research which I have done,” says the 44-year-old.

The National award-winner has taken up issues such as bar girls, the fashion industry, corporate people, and those who live near the traffic signals through his various films.

Bhandarkar says his films make certain people apprehensive and admits that they do get upset, but he is nonchalant about it. The filmmaker adds that he will announce his next film soon. “Right now, I am taking a break and after sometime, I will definitely announce my movie,” he says.
