In Noblemen, Kunal Kapoor headlines a film on bullying in school. Watch trailer
The first teaser for Noblemen was unveiled Friday afternoon and it is a scary glimpse of the abusive world of bullying.
Sensitive issues are rarely addressed in our films and that makes Kunal Kapoor’s new film, Noblemen, quite rare. The first teaser for the film was unveiled Friday afternoon and it is a scary glimpse of the abusive world of bullying.
Less than a minute long, the teaser uses a rehashed version of the classic number from Guru Dutt’s Pyaasa - Yeh Duniya Agar Mil Bhi Jaye To Kya Hai - penned by Sahir Ludhianvi. KC Loy has written and composed the new version and Suraj Jagan has lent his voice. The song adds to the tragic tone of the trailer.
Produced by Yoodlee Films, Nobleman is directed by Vandana Kataria and tells the story of 15-year-old Shay, who is terrorised by a gang of bullies at school. The film is set in an all boys’ boarding school, where Shay’s interest in dramatics is encouraged by Murali (Kunal Kapoor). However what starts off as his desire to be a part of a Shakespeare play, The Merchant of Venice, turns into a battle of student hierarchy and egos, leading to loss of life and innocence.
Noblemen will premiere at Kashish Film Festival on May 26.
