Jokes on Ranbir? No big deal, says Rishi Kapoor
Few were spared the jokes that actors Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor cracked at a recent awards function they hosted.
Few were spared the jokes that actors Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor cracked at a recent awards function they hosted. One of the colleagues who became the butt of their jokes was Ranbir Kapoor who has had a string of flop films, of late.

Ranbir’s dad, actor Rishi Kapoor, who is known to get angry if someone mocks Ranbir, this time kept his cool. “I don’t know what exactly Arjun said but whatever it was, it’s all right yaar. It is okay to run down anyone in this industry for a few laughs,” Rishi said, in a recent interview to DNA. “Ranbir is going through that phase in his career where he is facing flak for the films he has chosen, and rightly so. He has made some mistakes but he will emerge a stronger, wiser and a more learned actor after his suicidal career decisions…We actors have to go through lean phases. It’s a part and parcel of growing as an artist,” he added.
Poking fun at Ranbir’s latest flop Bombay Velvet, Ranveer and Arjun had said that Ranbir should have been named Roti in the film because his co-star, Anushka was called Rosie, and that “they could have been called Rosie-Roti because both of them took the Rosie-Roti away from Anurag Kashyap’s (director) pocket.” The duo also joked that Ranbir’s film, Roy, directed by Vikramjit Singh, should have been called Destroy instead.
