According to a DNA report, Kangana will follow in the footsteps of stars such as Aamir Khan, whose Dangal, PK and 3 Idiots turned huge profits, and Akshay Kumar, whose deals ensure low budgets for his films. She is said to have limited her acting fees for both films.
Incidentally, Kangana’s last three films - Rangoon, Simran and Katti Batti - were not box office successes. In fact, Rangoon and Katti Batti had a disastrous time at the ticket windows.
Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is about Rani Lakshmibai, who played an important part in India’s first battle for independence in 1857. The film is scheduled for a January 25, 2019 release, when it will clash with her nemesis Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30. Mental Hai Kya, produced by Ekta Kapoor, is her second film with Rajkummar Rao, with whom she starred in her biggest hit, Queen.
