Kapil Sharma returned to Twitter after a brief break and spoke to his fans about his health and future plans.

Comedian and actor Kapil Sharma, who has been facing controversies and troubles in his professional and public life for more than a year now, returned to Twitter to interact with his fans and give them a health update on Thursday. Kapil has been besieged by rumours of alcohol addiction, depression and unprofessional behaviour. He had a Twitter meltdown a few months ago which ended with him filing police complaints against a journalist and his former showrunner and alleged girlfriend Preeti Simoes and her sister Neeti.

After that incident, Kapil went off social media only to briefly interact with fans last night where he said he is making “positive changes” to his lifestyle. He also sounded positive that he would return to the small screens soon but is travelling at present. Kapil shared a link for the latest song of Dr Zeus last night and was flooded with messages by his fans.

Kapil also repeated Salman Khan’s famous dialogue when a fan asked how he can hold onto him. “Dil me aa raha hu bahut hai... samajh ke kya karna...love u.” (The fact that I am in your heart is enough, there is no point of understanding anything beyond that).

He also said that he will change his display picture on Twitter once he is back in shape, having earlier accepted that he is now “mota (fat)”.

When a fan tweeted that he is missing Kapil and his show, the comedian replied that he will return with a brand new offering.

He also responded to fans who were elated to see him back on Twitter. Replying to some of them, he said he has put on weight but is working hard to get back in shape. The actor-comedian finally wrote, “Chalo now good night .. trying to change my life style .. god bless all .. love u.”

Things started to turn ugly ever since Kapil’s on-flight fight with fellow comedian Sunil Grover in March last year. Soon, reports claiming Kapil kept cancelling shoots for his show The Kapil Sharma Show began doing the rounds. The channel had to eventually take the show off air in July.

In April this year, Kapil returned to the small screen with a new show titled, Family Time With Kapil Sharma. The launch of the show was accompanied by news of cancelled shoots. Sources said that Kapil cancelled shoot with Rani Mukerji at the last minute. The new show, too, was soon cancelled after three episodes.

Kapil, however, claimed all was well between him and the channel that aired Family Time with Kapil -Sony. “The people who want my career destroyed can spread whatever lies they want. I am okay with it. I am not new to people piggy riding on my success. Let them, as long as it gives them the satisfaction they want. I know what I am doing,” he said in an interview.
