Karan Singh Grover is tired of being called a casanova
Having made the transition from TV to films, with Alone (it released this year), the actor, whose physique, six-pack abs and chiseled looks have always garnered attention, says he now wants to be known for his acting skills as well.
Karan Singh Grover has been regularly making headlines for his alleged relationship with Bipasha Basu. But, of late, some steamy scenes from his next film are making waves as well. Having made the transition from TV to films, with Alone (it released this year), the actor, whose physique, six-pack abs and chiseled looks have always garnered attention, says he now wants to be known for his acting skills as well.
How ambitious are you?
I haven’t made a plan yet, as I am still starting out. I will take one film at a time, and see where that takes me. I want to keep doing better than what I did in my last film. As for being the best in the business, that’s for the audience to decide.
Your physique and good looks are talked about a lot. How does that make you feel?
I take it as a compliment. But, if someone says, “You act well”, then that, too, would make me happy. Even happier, perhaps. There is a lot that goes into every film. But, fortunately or unfortunately, what remains with the audience are the sexy songs.

Your next film has a lot of steamy scenes. How comfortable were you while shooting for them?
Sex scenes are not comfortable to do, but that is part of our job. I play a negative character in the movie, and had to unlearn a lot of things. However, I am not keen on doing negative roles in the long run. I have always played the romantic hero.
You have said you are not dating Bipasha. But both of you are constantly spotted with each other.
We are very close to each other. And, we enjoy each other’s company. That’s it.
If you are close, what is stopping you from dating Bipasha?
Nothing is stopping me. We are comfortable where we are. We are happy.
Due to your multiple relationships in the past, you have been called a Casanova.
I am getting absolutely tired of it. I think it’s time people understood the real me, instead of coming to their own conclusions about who I am.
