Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karisma Kapoor were by their father Randhir Kapor’s side to celebrate his birthday.

Karisma Kapoor posted pictures from what looks like a fun family gathering for father Randhir Kapoor’s birthday on Thursday. The veteran actor was joined by his two daughters, wife, brothers, sisters and their kids on his special day.

“#Birthdayfun #familylove,” she posted with a picture of Randhir cutting his birthday cake with Karisma and Kareena Kapoor Khan by his side. The cake read “Happy Birthday Nanu,” and also had little flags with the names of his three grandkids: Samaira, Kiaan (Karisma’s kids) and Taimur (Kareena’s son).

Karisma looked gorgeous in a silk orange top and a red skirt while Kareena wore a black top and pants for the party. Also in attendance were Rishi Kapoor with wife Neetu Kapoor, and actor Aadar Jain.

Randhir Kapoor recently attended The Raj Kapoor Awards for Excellence in Entertainment, organised to honour father Raj Kapoor. Randhir said of all the characters his father played, the 'common man' role is his personal favourite.

"He created the 'common man' character Raju for himself. One of my favourite films of his -- not produced or directed by him -- is 'Anari', which again had the same common man which Hrishikesh (Mukherjee) da took (inspiration from). I like the common man character," he said.

He also spoke about grandson Taimur. He maintained all the media attention has robbed celeb kids of normalcy, “Certainly, it has been robbed. Everyday, I get up in the morning and I see a picture of my grandson in newspapers. Now everyone recognises his maid also! That's because of the paparazzi."

Kareena will be seen next in Rhea Kapoor’s Veerey Di Wedding with Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania.
