Madhavan wants to play professional golf

The actor wants to play golf professionally after training in the US for eight months. Madhavan has always aspired to play golf professionally. Last year, he even teamed up with golf ace Jeev Milkha Singh to win a tournament at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai.

After proving his mettle in films, R Madhavan wants to impress on the golf course too.

We’ve learned that the actor has just completed eight months of golf training at the David Leadbetter Golf Academy in the US and is keen to take up the sport more seriously.

Madhavan has always aspired to play golf professionally. Last year, he even teamed up with golf ace Jeev Milkha Singh to win a tournament at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai.

"He always wanted to develop his skills as a golfer and had thus taken the decision to train at the academy. While he has managed to impress the coaches there, he now hopes to pursue the sport professionally and participate in major tournaments," says a source close to the actor.

While Madhavan is glad to have played with Jeev, he wants to play in more senior tournaments.

"I have been passionate about golf for years now, and to be paired with Jeev was a huge honour. Now, I have trained in the US and I want to be prepared enough to participate in other tournaments," says the actor.
