My husband is really hyper: Sridevi

She is making her comeback in Bollywood after a gap of 15 long years. Ask Sridevi about her family’s reaction to her work and she reveals that while her older daughter Jhanvi is her harshest critic, husband-filmmaker Boney Kapoor is the hyper one.

She is making her comeback in Bollywood after a gap of 15 long years, but actor Sridevi says she can’t feel the butterflies. "There is no apprehension. It’s because of all the positivity surrounding me and the praise the film received by people who have already seen it," says the 49-year-old.



Her comeback venture, English Vinglish, marks the directorial debut of Gauri Shinde, wife of filmmaker R Balki. Ask Sridevi about her family’s reaction to her work and she reveals that while her older daughter, Jhanvi, is her harshest critic, husband, filmmaker Boney Kapoor, is the hyper one. "Jhanvi’s not afraid to give me her opinion, right to my face. She is very honest about my work. My husband, on the other hand, is very hyper when it comes to these things. There comes a point where I actually tell him to cool down. When he sees me on screen, he gets super excited," she says.



And, has Jhanvi made plans to follow in mommy’s footsteps? "My children have grown up around film shoots. It is something that I can’t change. When it comes to Jhanvi, she wants to take up a new profession every month. Her mind keeps changing, which is a good thing for me," says the actor, adding, "But, I can’t break my head thinking about what would happen in the future, my priority right now is her studies." Ask her if she thinks the industry has changed over the years and Sridevi says, "Technically, it’s become superb, be it the camera work or production. But, it can’t change relationship wise, like maintaining a good rapport with your director. Such things don’t change."
