Day nine of Osian’s cinefan film festival of Indian, Asian and Arab cinema, on saturday, was high on experimental movies and rustic flavour. The coal mafia of dhanbad stole all the limelight, as filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s two-part movie, Gangs of Wasseypur, played back to back to a jam-packed auditorium which can seat over 1800 people. while the bouts of “exaggerated violence” in the film seemed to disturbed many, kashyap claimed that he didn’t think it affected the viewer’s mindset in any way. “People indulging in violence have other problems and we can’t blame films for this. revenge can be non-violent also,” he said.
