Actor-producer Aamir Khan has received ‘thank you’ postcards from villagers from more than 500 villages with the name Peepli, for making the name of their village famous through his latest production, Peepli Live, which releases this Friday.

There are over 1000 Peeplis all over India. “Aamir was surprised when he started getting hand-written letters from different Peeplis.

Even he wasn’t aware that there were so many villages with the same name. Some have even invited Aamir to visit their village," said a source close to the actor.

Meanwhile, actor Salman Khan attended a special screening of Aamir’s flick on Tuesday evening in Mumbai.

Sallu, who was all praise, later tweeted, “Mr. Midas touch has produced a picture. Midas touch matlab ke aamir khan. Peepli has a mad-a** touch... I dint let aamir touch me after the film. Agar mujhe gold mein badal deta toh? (sic)”
