Rakul Preet Singh on dating Rana Daggubati: We both just laugh off such rumours

Actor Rakul Preet Singh says that Baahubali actor Rana Daggubati is one of the closest friends she has in Hyderabad and both have common friends, which maybe the reason for the dating speculation.

Rakul Preet Singh shares a special bond with fellow actor Rana Daggubati. There are reports that they’re dating, but brushing them aside, she says that he’s one of the very few close friends she has in Hyderabad. While Rana is a big star in Telugu and Tamil cinema — and now he’s also a household name across India, thanks to the two Baahubali films — Rakul Preet has done Telugu films before venturing into Bollywood.

Rakul Preet Singh will be seen in Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary. She is paired with Sidharth Malhotra in the film.

About the dating rumours, she says, “We’ve been hearing this for such a long time and [we] can’t help but laugh. This is just a rumour. Rana and I are very good friends. He’s there for me whenever I need him. I stay in Hyderabad, away from family, and there I have a group of 15-20 friends. Rana and I are a part of the group. So, we often hang out together and are neighbours, too. In the group, only two-three [people] are single, and we’re among them. And I think people tend to link those who are single.”

Rakul Preet, who’ll be seen in Aiyaary, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee, adds that right now she’s married to her work. “In fact, I often tell my friends, ‘Guys, find me someone, what are you doing?’ And they are on it,” she laughs, adding, “On a serious note, I want to concentrate on my work. When love happens, I’d prefer to announce it rather than hide it.”

The actor shares that she wouldn’t mind dating someone from the industry. “I think someone from the same industry or profession would understand my kind of work. But all said and done, one can’t decide with whom one would fall in love,” says Rakul Preet, who made her Bollywood debut with Yaariyan (2014) and is shooting for her next film, starring Ajay Devgn.
