Ranveer Singh, who was recently hospitalised after contracting dengue, now seems to be taking things slow. And since it is going to take a while before he feels fully fit, the actor has requested the producers of his next film, Kill Dill (KD), to postpone the shoot. The filming, which was to kick off on October 14 with a song sequence, will now begin only in November.

Ranveer says, “I told Shaad (Ali, director) that I want to start the film when I can give it my 100 per cent. We could have shot the song, but I decided not to. The initial plan was to shoot for a short schedule, for 10 days.”

Post the song shoot, Ranveer was going to focus on the promotions of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram-Leela (RL). “I was to rejoin KD shoot post RL’s release on November 15. Now we will have to make up for lost time,” says the actor.

After over a month’s shoot in November, the cast will break for a vacation in December. “We will resume earlier in Jan than planned,” he adds. Ranveer adds that is eager to work with Shaad. “KD is a special film. I have dreamt of working with Shaad for years. We have been friends since I was 16,” he says.

Mooch ado about promoting
When Ranveer’s last film Lootera released in July, filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane was reportedly irked that Ranveer couldn’t promote the film in the look of his character (who sported a clean-shaven look). As Ranveer was shooting for Ram-Leela, he had no option but to keep his handlebar moustache during the promotion period. However, had the Kill Dill shoot taken place on time, Ranveer would have shaved his facial hair for it and then promoted Bhansali’s film. Ask Ranveer about the filmmaker’s reaction to that and he says, “Sanjay sir was not okay, but he understood that I had time constraints. It was good that at least for half the promotional campaign of RL, I would have had the look. But perhaps it was destiny that I promote RL in this look. Now everyone is happy.”
