Shah Rukh forced to work overtime for Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone is set to shoot for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram Leela from mid-April. In a bid to complete Chennai Express before that, SRK puts in extra hours during the shoot of the film to make the most of his co-star Deepika Padukone’s busy schedule.

There is no relief in sight for Shah Rukh Khan, who has been shooting non-stop for his upcoming film, Chennai Express. The entire unit has been working overtime as the Rohit Shetty directorial, which is set for an Eid release this year, is apparently running 15 to 20 days behind schedule.

Now, the latest news is that the film’s leading lady, Deepika Padukone, can only dedicate a few weeks to this shooting schedule.

“From mid-April onwards her dates have been blocked by Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Ram Leela. The makers tried getting the dates rescheduled, but it wasn’t possible, which is why no one has any time to waste,” informs a source from the unit of Rohit’s film.

As a result, Shah Rukh too has been left with no option, but to put in the extra hours. “He was so busy focusing on the shoot in Wai that he didn’t even accompany his family to Phuket for Arjun and Mehr’s (Rampals) wedding anniversary bash,” says an insider.

However, the actor did take out time to drop his family to the airport. “He needs to finish as much work on Chennai Express as he can because he needs to make time for the Indian Premier League (IPL), as his company Red Chillies Entertainment is putting together the opening ceremony,” says the source.

Shah Rukh Khan also co-owns the IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders. Despite repeated attempts, SRK remained unavailable for a comment.
