It's true. Director of the film We Are Family Siddharth Malhotra was so bent on casting Kajol to play Susan Sarandon's role in the Stepmom remake that he actually made a mannat to Lord Hanuman asking for Kajol to say yes!

The director even promised to visit the Lord's temple every Saturday. However, now with the wish fulfilled, it seems he may be having trouble fulfilling the vow, reported Mumbai Mirror.

Malhotra said only Kajol could fit into the role perfectly. "To me, she was the ideal actress, wife and mother, and that's what she plays in my film," he said.

The director doesn't stop just there. He raves about Kajol's punctuality and dedication and "how she grills you if you haven't done your homework."

Malhotra goes on to say that if Kajol had refused the film, he probably wouldn't have made it at all! Well, we wonder what he would have done then!
