Taapsee Pannu: Producers should say whether I am a commercially viable actor

Bollywood actor Taapsee Pannu, who was last seen in Judwaa 2, wants to transform into a commercially-reliable actor that producers and the audience can bank upon.

Actor Taapsee Pannu feels there is no set plan or strategy for one to ensure that they reach the top as an actor. The actor, who has been a part of several content-driven films like Baby (2015), Pink (2016), and Naam Shabana (2017), feels that everyone has their own strengths.

Actor Taapsee Pannu will soon be seen in the film Soorma.

“I don’t know if this kind of a strategy or plan exists, and if it does, I don’t know if it is the same for everyone, because all of us are different types of actors, different-looking people with different kinds of strengths and weaknesses. We need to play to our strengths to achieve that position,” says Taapsee, who will next be seen in Soorma, the biopic of hockey player Sandeep Singh.

The 30-year-old, who has been vocal about the importance of commercial success vis-a-vis critical acclaim, says she intends to go about it one film at a time. “My aim is to see how every film of mine fares, and to accordingly use my strengths in the next film. I also intend not to repeat the mistakes I’ve made in the past. I see the result of one film, and then choose what I do next,” she shares, adding that she has set her sights on becoming a commercially-reliable actor.

“The producers are the ones who should tell if I am a commercially viable actor or not that because they are the ones investing money in me. My aim is to be part of projects that are profitable for everyone. I hope my producers feel that I am worth betting their money on because that’s the aim in my career,” says the actor, who was last seen in comic entertainer Judwaa 2.
