Bollywood actor Taapsee Pannu, who will soon be seen essaying the role of hockey player Sandeep Singh’s love interest in his upcoming biopic Soorma, trained with the former Indian captain himself to perfect her game for the movie. The makers have now released a video where we can see Taapsee and Sandeep practising together as they prepare for the movie that stars Diljit Dosanjh in the lead role.

Taapsee’s character is called Harpreet in the film directed by Shaad Ali. She had earlier said on social media that her dream to learn and play hockey has come true with Soorma. Taapsee says in the video, “Sandeep was the nicest coach I can ever have, for a sport which I never really tried before.”

She trained for several weeks before shooting for the film to ace the role of a hockey player on screen. Sandeep himself trained the cast of the film to help them ace their moves so that they look like trained athletes on screen.

Also featuring Angad Bedi in an important role, Soorma is produced by Sony Pictures Networks Productions, Chitrangda Singh, and Deepak Singh. The film releases July 13.
