The story of Madras Cafe is simple and clear: Shoojit Sircar
A Tamil activist group sought ban on the release of Madras Cafe in Tamil Nadu after seeing trailer. But Shoojit Sircar, director of the spy thriller, says the content of the film is simple and it has been cleared by the censor board with U/A certificate.
A Tamil activist group, Naam Thamizhar (We Tamils), sought a ban on John Abraham-starrer for reportedly portraying Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) members as terrorists. Sircar said, “I don’t think it will be banned in Tamil Nadu. I feel the speculations have started too early. The story is very simple and clear. If anyone wants to take the political advantage out of it, I can’t help that.”
Madras Cafe, John’s second production venture, is based on terrorism and civil war. “Censor board has given it U/A certificate, which means they don’t see anything objectionable in the content,” Sircar said.
