However, according to sources, Ash has put on weight for her role of an alcoholic, fading star in filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine. “Madhur wanted her to look puffy because her character becomes negligent towards herself and takes to alcohol to deal with her unsuccessful career,” says a source close to Madhur, adding, “She has not put on weight naturally. It was part of the script but Ash is under contract and cannot reveal this.”

On being contacted, Madhur refused to comment. Instead, he laughed and said, “I am not saying anything about her character. I cannot say anything at this stage.”
