Zoya Akhtar to turn producer now?
The director now, apparently, wants to turn producer to give break to newer talent.
From Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011) to Dil Dhadkne Do (2015) — Zoya Akhtar (above) has directed several hit films.
She is currently scripting her next, which is rumoured to star actors like Ranveer Singh and Fawad Khan. So far, Zoya had been directing films under her brother Farhan Akhtar’s production house, which he co-owns with producer Ritesh Sidhwani. Now, apparently, she wants one of her own.

An insider says, “For the past few years, many writers have approached Zoya with their scripts, hoping she would direct them. She also wants to give a platform to new talent. So, she wants to start her own production house. Then, the family will have two, instead of one.”
Zoya remained unavailable for a comment.
