Jason Segel becomes children's author with 'Nightmare!'

Star of "How I Met Your Mother," writer and co-star of "The Muppets" 2011 outing and "The Five-Year Engagement" Jason Segel is segueing into fiction with children's story "Nightmare!" due in fall 2014.

Star of "How I Met Your Mother," writer and co-star of "The Muppets" 2011 outing and "The Five-Year Engagement" Jason Segel is segueing into fiction with children's story "Nightmare!" due in fall 2014.

"Ultimately, it's a story about learning that we can accomplish anything, as long as we are brave enough to try," he explained in a prepared statement to the press. "These are the types of stories that always inspired me."

Fellow comic actor Jim Carrey announced his own plans in March for an inspirational children's storybook titled "How Roland Rolls."
