Lauren Conrad tops bestseller list
First came candy, and now it's lies. Reality TV star Lauren Conrad's second book Sweet Little Lies has topped the New York Times bestseller list. The book follows her hugely successful debut novel, LA Candy.
The 24-year-old who shot to fame after starring in MTV shows like Laguna Beach and The Hills has modelled her protagonist, Jane Roberts, a young reality star in Hollywood, on herself, reported People magazine online.
"It's so gratifying for my second book to be so successful and it was so fun to write! The characters were already developed so I really enjoyed the process so much more this time around," said Conrad.
After her debut novel LA Candy topped the best seller list, the second work from Conrad again follows Jane Roberts, but now with some experience under her belt as she sees some of the pitfalls of the fame game. "I just sat in bed writing and it was the best process. Who gets to work from home in their PJ's?" said Conrad.
Fondly called LC by her fans, she is currently promoting the novel on a book tour. "I'm just so thankful to my fans. Everyone is coming out to see me in the snow. I just can't believe it," she said.
Sweet Little Lies follows her hugely successful debut novel, LA Candy which also topped the best seller list.
