NEW DELHI: Essar Energy Plc has announced the sale of its stake in Kenya Petroleum Refineries Ltd (KPRL) to the Kenyan government, as part of its move to monetise non-core assets. Essar holds 50% stake in KPRL, which operates a 4-million-tonne oil refinery in Mombasa in Kenya. Essar Energy headquartered in Mauritius is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Essar Group.
