MUMBAI : Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani took home a salary of ₹15 crore in 2015-16, even as the company’s whole-time directors saw their remuneration increase around 20% year-on-year, details released in the annual report for 2015-16 fiscal said.

Ambani has kept his salary capped at ₹15 crore since 2008-09.
“The chairman and managing director’s compensation has been set at ₹15 crore against ₹38.75 crore as approved, reflecting his desire to continue to set a personal example for moderation in managerial compensation levels,” a statement in the annual report said. RIL had issued a similar statement in fiscal 2014-15.
Among Ambani’s key personnel, Nikhil Meswani, executive director, took home a salary of ₹14.42 crore, up from ₹12.03 crore. Similarly, Hital Meswani’s remuneration increased from ₹12.03 crore to ₹14.41 crore.
Other executive directors PMS Prasad and PK Kapil took home a salary of ₹7.23 crore and ₹2.94 crore respectively in 2015-16. In 2014-15, they were paid a remuneration of ₹6.03 crore and ₹2.41 crore respectively.
