IT Star: S Ramadorai
Subramaniam Ramadorai heads India's first IT services company. He is the CEO of $1 billion Tata Consultancy Services for the past eight years and is credited with making TCS as the number one IT exporter of the country.

He also steered the company when it was listed at the stock exchanges. Its IPO, which hit the market in August, was oversubscribed more than seven times. The size of the offer amounted to Rs. 54.2 billion ($1.2 billion), making TCS one of India's largest companies in terms of market capital.
He began his career in TCS as a junior engineer in 1972, four years after it was founded, at a time when India was slowly waking up to the computer age.
He rose through the ranks, became the firm's head honcho in 1996 and over the years forged tie-ups with Microsoft, Oracle, Citibank and AIG.
Today, IT has grown into one of the main economic pillars of India, thanks to companies like TCS, which put the country on the world technology map.
