J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah urged private players in trade, commerce and industry to pull their weight in developing the state.

“We are confronted with a crisis of unemployment... the government alone cannot absorb all jobless persons,” Abdullah said, while appreciating HDFC Bank for continuing operations in the Valley despite disturbances last year.

He was inaugurating an HDFC branch at Behama, Ganderbal, his constituency.
