“Till June, out of the total of 9,902 take offs, 318 instances of service delays attributed to technical snags have been reported,” aviation minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju told Lok Sabha in reply to a question. Four cases of windshield cracks have been reported during this period, he said. The Dreamliner was inducted into AI’s fleet in September 2012.

“AI is in constant touch with Boeing. Boeing technical team has visited India and as a reliability enhancement measure, each Dreamliner aircraft was taken in for a 7-10 day maintenance grounding during December 2013-March 2014,” the minister said.
