The finance ministry has set the ball rolling for a full budget for 2009-10 expected to be presented by the newly elected government after the current elections. The first round of pre-budget consultations will commence on Wednesday with representatives of industry chamber Ficci scheduled to meet top ministry officials to provide inputs for a full budget.

The new government will have to present a full budget before August.

The meeting with Ficci representatives will be followed by a meeting with industry leaders representing Assocham on Thursday and one with CII representatives early next week. The government presented an interim Budget for the current fiscal on February 16, even though Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee gave the estimates of the full year.
