Ramadorai, a non-independent, non-executive vice chairman at Tata Consultancy Services, is the adviser to the prime minister in the National Council on Skill Development.
"I would like to confirm Ramadorai as chairman of AirAsia India. A giant of Indian industry. A great thinker. Man from the south," tweeted AirAsia Group CEO Tony Fernandes. "That completes our team. Quite a heavyweight team for super exciting AirAsia India."
