SAIL bags 'SCOPE Award'

SAIL has been chosen for the prestigious 'SCOPE Award' for excellence and outstanding contribution to the public sector management' 2006-07.

The Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has been chosen for the prestigious 'SCOPE Award' for excellence and outstanding contribution to the public sector management' 2006-07, sources in the company's Rourkela plant said here on Saturday.

SAIL had got the same award in 2004-05 too.

Instituted by the Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), the apex body of public sector organisations, the award carries a gold trophy.

The award is given in recognition of the contribution of public enterprises as well as of individuals for their 'outstanding' vision and leadership quality in creating national wealth.

SAIL had also got the Special Scope Award in the turnaround category in 2003-04.
