The Sensex, which gained 106 points in opening trade today, slipped by 125.28 points to 19,561.54 at 1100 hrs, as stocks in the banking, auto and IT sectors succumbed to profit-booking.

Similarly, the broad-based National Stock Exchange Nifty index fell by 41.25 points to 5,868.80 after rising to 5,944.45 in opening trade.

Brokers said the emergence of profit-booking by speculators mainly reversed the early upward trend.
