Tata appoints James Shapiro resident director in North America

Prior to joining the Tata group, Shapiro worked at the BSE, first in Mumbai and later as an advisor based in New York, where his responsibilities included global business development and BSE's global partnership with Deutsche Boerse and S&P Dow Jones Indices, the company said.

Tata group holding company Tata Sons on Friday appointed James Shapiro as its resident director in North America.

"Shapiro, a senior financial services executive with wide experience in international markets and regulatory issues, will facilitate the Tata group's future growth in North America," the company said in a statement.

The North America office reports into Madhu Kannan, member, group executive council, Tata Sons.
