SIAM: Honda takes charge of November 2025 domestic scooter sales as TVS tries to keep pace
India’s scooter market hit a record 7.35 lakh units in November 2025, with Honda leading the field while TVS posted stronger year-on-year growth.
The Indian two-wheeler market continues its upward trajectory in November 2025 sales, according to the latest data obtained from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). The scooter segment marked its best-ever November sales, with volumes reaching 7,35,753. This marks a 29.4% year-on-year increase over the 5,68,580 sold in November 2024, driven by festive demand and the GST rate rationalisation.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) maintained its lead in the domestic scooter market with a total of 2,88,330 units sold in November 2025, putting it significantly ahead of its nearest rival. The company registered a 22.9% YoY growth compared to the 2.34 lakh units sold in the same month last year. Honda also saw a solid uptick in exports, shipping 32,300 units. Leading in overseas sales, it registered a roughly 26% increase over November 2024’s 25,607 units.

The TVS Motor Company remains in second place in the domestic market with 2,02,311 total units sold, up from 1,59,877 sold in November 2024. While it trails in overall volumes, the manufacturer recorded a higher growth rate of 26.5% YoY compared to HMSI. This was complemented by strong export momentum, which brought a 39.8% YoY growth with 7,911 units sold overseas in November 2025.

Broader Market Sees Strong Gains Beyond Top Two
Outside the top two, the segment witnessed aggressive expansion, particularly from the likes of Hero and Suzuki, as well as EV players. Suzuki Motorcycle India sold 95,040 scooters in November 2025, up 23.2% from 77,133 units in the same month last year. The Japanese company more than doubled its overseas volumes, reaching 7,863 units with a 125.6% YoY growth over November 2024.
Hero stood out with its year-on-year sales growth, nearly doubling its volumes with a 90.8% YoY jump to reach 57,875 units, up from the 30,334 sold in November 2024. Export volumes also roughly doubled, rising 94.4% to 7,028 units.
Bajaj Auto saw domestic sales climb 48.1% to 38,372 units, driven by its broad catalogue of Pulsar bikes and the expanding Chetak e-scooter lineup. Ather Energy continued its strong sales momentum with 23,714 units, registering a 78.1% YoY growth over November 2024’s 13,317. The Bengaluru-based company’s performance is not only driven by its expanding range of offerings but also reflects the growing shift toward electric mobility.
