Residents can apply for HSRPs at the RLA’s Sector 17 office and its sub-offices in Sector 42 and the Industrial Area with a written request detailing the vehicle’s chassis number, engine number and the model, along with a copy of the vehicle’s registration certificate and insurance.
Saturday was the last date for affixing the HSRP for CH-01-AG series.
Officials said the RLA would soon write to the UT traffic police to initiate the process for challaning vehicle owners of AG series without an HSRP.
With its one-month-one-series deadline policy, the RLA has so far covered eight series since October last year.
However, the department has failed to launch the multiple-series-per-month to accelerate the process of HSRP affixation.
Sources said with the deadline for one-month-per-series looming near, the RLA stood no chance of meeting the Supreme Court’s deadline of April 2015 for completing the target of installing HSRPs over seven lakh-old registered vehicles in Chandigarh.
