10 booked for arson, theft in Haryana

A case has been registered against 10 people under alleged charges of arson and theft at a power house in Saasrauli village of the district here on Monday.

A case has been registered against 10 people under alleged charges of arson and theft at a power house in Saasrauli village of the district here on Monday.

According to a complaint lodged by SDO Sunil Kumar, the incident took place Sunday night when the residents of Birohad village, infuriated over unscheduled power cuts for the past several days, stormed into the power station and began misbehaving with the officials.

Later, when the officials opposed them, the irate villagers set two motorbikes on fire and also damaged the office properties.

Besides, the villagers took a 100 ft aluminium cable, 80 km aluminium wires, two mobile phones along with them after injuring several power house officials.

Anil, Ravinder, Ajit and seven other unidentified people have been booked under various sections.

Further probes into the incident are on, the police said.
